ABOUT THE LAB
The focus of the lab is the development of a disruptive technology for the production of second generation ethanol using thermophilic bacteria.
This technology is based on two pillars: genetic engineering of thermophilic bacteria (developed at CBMEG's A2G Lab) and process engineering of lignocellulosic biomass conversion (developed at Unicamp's Chemical Engineering College).
PRINCIPAL RESEARCHERS
Dr. Adriano Pinto Mariano
Associate Professor (FEQ/UNICAMP)
My research program is aimed at developing technology, design tools and methodologies, and human resources to create energy-efficient technologies and sustainable biorefinery designs. I combine Process Systems Engineering tools with experiments to convert R&D technology efforts into process concepts and sustainable business opportunities for the sugarcane and forest industry.
LINES OF RESEARCH
